Condenser microphones require power to work, on Focusrite interfaces when you press the 48V button, phantom power (48V) is sent to the XLR microphone input for that input (or inputs). I use it daily at the lowest latency without issue. Microphones can broadly be separated into three categories: Dynamic, Condenser and Ribbon. Didn't have to tweak anything upon plugging it in. I solved my focusrite issues by selling them and getting something else.
Visual Studio debugger says that happens because of an exception remaining unhandled, which is such a simple and absolutely. I recently purchased the Scarlette 2i2 and downloaded the 2i2 USB 2.0 Driver from the Focusrite website and the ASIO driver from.

Most USB audio interfaces on the market require specific software and drivers to. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Adobe Audition Online. But I wasted way too much time trying to get the 18i20 to not suck ass already, I eventually threw in the towel. As a result, you will likely need to go through a driver installation process. Seems like a strong possibility at this point, that there may be some chipset compatibility issues, considering how often people on here mention focusrite issues. It *could have* been an incompatibility with the chipset though, maybe. It wasn't my computer's fault, from what I could tell. I'm in IT and built a brand new machine which I optimized for audio production. I tried Focusrite's new and outdated drivers. And they definitely didn't share audio duties well. Everything else (most notably the Focusrite) is 'disabled' as far as Windows is concerned. In the Windows 'manage sound devices' control panel, the only output device I have enabled is the Realtek chip on the mobo, for 'computer sounds'. I owned two Focusrite 18i20's (I bought the first one used, thought it was bad, bought a new one, was equally disappointed). I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 which is the only thing Cakewalk uses. I know because I've made roughly the same comment here more than a handful of times.
